Our workshops have been the result of taking a primary school teacher frustrated with outdoor education options that don't cost the earth and an outdoor educator keen to get into schools. The workshops were developed by Rob and Abi many years ago and have grown year on year, becoming a key part of many schools annual topics, created hooks and engagement through the power or outdoor learning. The list below offers a diverse range of topics, each of which is delivered in a way that will give children practical hands on experiences and provide ample opportunities to take the learning back into the classroom.
Prices start from £290 per day
The £290 includes travel for the first 40 miles from our base, further mileage is charged at cost. The day can be split into half days allowing two classes to experience the magic of our outdoor workshops.
Stone Age Primitive Skills WorkshopOur most popular workshop promises to hook your class into the prehistory topic through a day of primitive skills activities. Arctic or Mountain Survival WorkshopChoose either Arctic or Mountains and delve into the world of explorers, head off on an in school expedition as the children learn about, -The special clothing required, with a try on sesison - pitch special tents and emergency shelters. -Cook rations on expedition stoves. -Ski or climb across the field/classroo, and become immersed in the hardship of exploration. Adapted for either KS1 or KS2. Nature Investigation and craftsThis workshop allows children to to explore the school grounds and learn the diversity that exists in even the most unlikely places. The children work their way through a programme designed by teachers to learn about, - The mini beast in your grounds, collection, ID and recording - Minibeast modelling - Worm surveys and what they tell us. - Tree and Plant ID - Tree age measuring - Finish with a little marshmallow toasting! |
Anglo Saxon & Viking WorkshopOur newest workshop is a deep dive into the Early Medieval Period, its an ideal hook for this starting this topic. The workshop is delivered by an expert fully kitted out as a Saxon lord and includes, - Engaging interactive timeline on huge playground map. - Children are dressed and assigned jobs, warriors or slaves. - Hands on look at weapons - Warrior School Session, including mass shield walls - Viking bread making on open fire. Christmas Nature Crafts WorkshopOur seasonal workshop is a chance to get outside and take part in, - A range of festive craft tasks, from Christmas tree art to Reindeer clay heads, - Hot chocolate around a campfire. - Toasted marshmallows - Festive campfire bread making - Christmas themed campfire songs Its a magical way to get some Christmas vibes through December! |
